This session will show how Springboard for the Arts is engaging communities in partnership with Minnesota libraries through artist-made tools for interaction and workshops for creative entrepreneurs. Two of Springboard’s many toolkits and replicable projects will be showcased, Ready Go and the Work of Art: Business Skills for Artists. Ready Go is a roster of artist-created, mobile projects (or tools) for hire that are designed to pique curiosity and prompt interaction. You will see examples of how Ready Go tools have been used at libraries and find out how you can easily tap into artists to engage your library users! Work of Art is a professional development curriculum designed to teach business skills to artists in all disciplines. You will see and experience examples of the curriculum and learn how you can bring the Work of Art workshop series to your community through the libraries.
