It's All About Relationships: Build Your Best Diversity Outreach

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Outreach to racially and ethnically diverse communities has always been part of librarianship, but in recent times has been moving from the periphery to the very core of what we do. As more librarians learn the basics of social justice and community engagement, we need to push for ever-deeper, collaborative relationships with our patrons. This session convenes librarians who already have some knowledge of the role of equity and diversity in librarianship and are ready to act on that knowledge. Our panel features leaders from diverse communities, community partners, and librarians who will share how they build relationships to serve community needs. Come prepared to generate questions for further discussion so that we can continue the conversation at this conference and beyond.
