Sara Zettervall, Librarian, Hennepin County Library, Nokomis

Sara Zettervall is the Adult Services Librarian at Hennepin County Library's Nokomis branch in South Minneapolis. She has been with HCL for two years and for most of that time split her position between Nokomis and Community Connections, a division that supports community engagement efforts throughout the system. Her prior experience includes working as Associate to the University Librarian at the University of Minnesota, managing an IMLS grant in the UMN Performing Arts Archives, coordinating events for early childhood researchers, and providing outreach to at-risk teens in a Minneapolis charter high school. Her concept for uniting librarianship and social work, Whole Person Librarianship, has been nationally recognized through an invitational piece in Public Libraries Magazine and presentations at ALA Annual Conferences. She was a 2014 ALA Emerging Leader and a 2013 MLA MILE Participant. She is the 2016 Chair of MLA's Diversity & Outreach Round Table and a 2016-2018 member of the ALA Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Implementation Working Group.
